Postseason play for Whittier

Closing out the season with a 25-22, 25-19, 17-25, 25-19 victory over Shawsheen Valley to improve to 15-5, the Whittier girls vollyball team has qualified for postseason play. Kendra Hobbs led the way with 21 assists, 16 service points and three aces, and Jordan Alper contributed 15 kills and two blocks.

Perfect season

The Greater Lawrence girls volleyball team closed out the regular season a perfect 18-0 with yesterday's win over Chelsea. Jennylee Sosa had 19 service points and three aces, Paolo Gutierrez had 12 kills, and Angie Gonzalez had ten assists.

Panthers wrap season with win

Presentation of Mary won their final contest of the season, comming back to defeat Northeast Metro after losing the first set. Panther seniors playing their for the final time turned in solid perfomances as Becky Smith led in kills (4), blocks (3) and service points (14, 10 aces) while classmates Kasha Pryzbylska had nine assists. Samanatha O'Toole and Jessica Goulet also were pointed out as playing well in their last game as well.

Giant killers

In a battle of undefeateds, Melissa Yan recorded 15 service points and a whopping 43 assists as Phillips downed Hotchkiss 26-24, 17-25, 26-24, 25-16. The Big Blue went to 9-0 and Hotchkiss fell to 9-1. Meghan McCafferty added 13 kills.

Salem's Becca Weiss recorded her 500th career service point in a 25-13, 25-16, 25-12 win over Keene. Weiss hit 20 points along with 8 aces. Amanda Saab (5 aces 4 kills) and Melissa Paris (8 digs) also stood out.

Seniors lead the way

Londonderry got great performances from their seniors during senior night as the Lancers dropped Manchester Central 3-0. Senior Hanna Collins lead the team in kills, blocks and service points as classmates Brittany Buyck (14 assists) and Brianna Gibbons (3 kills) also played key roles.

Approaching perfection

 

Central Catholic's girls volleyball team improved to 15-0 with a sweep of Andover. Katie Zenevich had 10 kills and Molly Sullivan scored 22 points serving. For Andover, which gave the Raiders a good battle the second two games, Kirsten Arvidson had 13 kills and Rebecca Johnson shined defnsively.
