Behind 12 kills from Paola Gutierrez, Greater Lawrence downed Shawsheen 25-19, 25-14, 25-21 in the finals of the State Vocational School tournament. Rosa Javier added a team-high 14 service points for the Reggies (20-0).

The Central Catholic girls volleyball team completed a historic 18-0 season tonight - the first undefeated season in school history - with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-16 victory over Billerica. The MVC Large champs got big contributions from a number of players, including Katie Zenevitch (seven kills), Maggie Hillman (seven kills), Carolyn Eddy (21 assists), Katie Quinlan (14 service points), Carla Borrelli (18 digs, four aces) and Lindsay Phenix (two blocks).

The Haverhill girls volleyball team closed out the season on a high note, defeating Lowell 25-21, 25-14, 25-17 for their eighth win. Hannah Davis racked up a team-high 8 kills, four aces and one block. Katelyn Demers finished with 13 assists and nine digs, and Alex Stasio added seven kills.

The North Andover girls volleyball team dropped to 14-6 after losing to Melrose 18-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-25. Lauren Small had 11 kills and seven blocks, and Suzanne Morin racked up 24 assists.

With one game to go in the regular season, Lawrence downed Somerville 25-12, 25-12, 25-13 to improve to 15-3. Jadith Lorenzo had a team-high 13 kills and 16 assists, while Karina Lopez tallied 14 service points and two aces. The Lancers face Andover tomorrow to wrap up their season.

Defending CAL champ North Reading closed the season out on a high note with a 25-15, 25-7, 25-14 victory over Stoneham. Lauren Mozzone led the way with seven kills and two blocks. Alison Friberg added 15 assists, and Kirsten Morrison had 14 service points with seven aces.

Katie Zenevitch registered a season-best 12 kills and chipped in with a pair of blocks to pace Central Catholic over Chelmsford in a sweep.

Carolyn Eddy's serving got the Raiders off to fast starts in games two (a 9-0 lead) and three (an 8-0 lead).

Rebecca Guselli dished out her 1,900th career assist, leading Methuen volleyball to an easy win over Tewksbury.
