Boston College High School running back Danny Abraham — one year after rushing for nearly 400 yards against Andover — broke his first carry of 2017 for a 68 yard touchdown, and the Golden Warriors could not recover, falling to the Eagles 34-7 in the season-opener for both teams.

Penalties Hurt Central Catholic in 8-2 loss

NORTH ANDOVER- It's hard to be upbeat after a 8-2 defeat at the hands of B.C High, but Central Catholc head coach Mike Jankowski is confident with what he saw on the ice from his team.

"Overall we played pretty decently," said Jankowski. "Unfortunately we got the two majors and we were shorthanded for eight minutes. That's a good portion of the game in which you leave a team like that opportunities which they capitilized on."

Methuen showed its dual meet prowess in a big way Saturday.

The Rangers romped over BC High, Wilmington, Brockton and Brookline to improve to 9-0 and give signs that they could be tough to beat in the Merrimack Valley Conference. The rout of BC High (54-18) was payback against a team that edged Methuen in the Oliver Ames Tournamentas, romping over BC High.
