Knights rally from deep hole

ARLINGTON — The North Andover High girls stumbled off the bus and struggled to a 19-3 hole in the second quarter but wouldn't be denied in their Division 2 North quarterfinal.
"They were making everything, and we were missing everything," said Knights' coach Sue Breen. "We just started chipping away at it."
That effort began to snowball, and North Andover turned a tight one into a runaway, claiming a 57-43 decision.
The Knights will now face Belmont Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Burlington High School in the North semis.
"It was all about defensive intensity," said Breen. "I am proud of the kids. They stuck together and kept getting after it."
Morgan Lumb led the winners with 22 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore LEah Chittick had eight points and five steals. Pam Coufos was all over the floor with five points, five steals and four assists. Michaela Mello was tough inside with seven points and 10 rebounds.
