Brooks wins, again

 

Nobles only has two losses in boys basketball this year and both are to Brooks. What's more, yesterday's 44-31 victory for Brooks (8-1) was far more decisive. Charlie Crockett led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Akenna Ndugba had nine assists for Brooks which, in an extreme rarity, made no 3-pointers.

Ikenna Ndugba knocked down his only shot of the game with 50 seconds left to give Brooks a one-point lead, and Dontae Christian sunk two free throws with 15 seconds left to give the Green and White a 50-47 win over previously unbeaten Nobles.

Owl boys 5th

 

Led by Liam Kimball, the Timberlane boys cross country team placed an impressive fifth out of 32 teams at the Brown University championship. Kimball was 16th overall in 16:46 on the 5K course. Also running well for the Owls in 24th was James Busi (16:58), Peter Saviano (28th, 17:01) and Tyler DeChane (39th, 17:09).

David Berroa went out with a leg injury after scoring 12 points in the first half and was unable to return and Brooks lost its first game of the season, 62-59 in overtime to Nobles. Jayde Dawson scored 22 points in a losing cause for Brooks (7-1).

Brooks takes home title late in 2nd OT

With 30 seconds left in double-overtime, Sarah Bresette hauled in a pass from Suki Smith and scored the goal that gave Brooks soccer a 1-0 victory over Nobles in the NEPSAC Class A title game yesterday.
