Tanner girls drop Revere

Andrea Saccardo won the low hurdles (48.6) and the triple jump (32-6) as Peabody finished the dual meet season 6-1 with a big 113-18 win over Revere. Kirstin Surman won the shot put (33-5), Pinky Ratanajit took the 100 (12.8) and Kritsin Kolodziej finished first in the 800 (2:35.4) for the Tanners.

Mark Linehan tossed six scoreless innings to help the Tanners (14-5) take care of Revere, 7-0. Danny Mello and Tom Ciulla paced the offense as each was 2 for 3 with a pair of runs scored. Peaboody broke it open in the fourth on consecutive hits from James Noftle, Pat Yeo, Ciulla and Mark Finnochio.

Four homers propel Salem

The Witches (12-6, 10-4 NEC) used the longball to thump Revere, smashing a total of four homers and 19 hits in a 17-1 rout of Revere. Harry Noone bashed two 3-run dingers and totaled seven RBI to lead the hit parade while T.J. Larivee also had a homer and four RBI and Matt Paine knocked one out of the park.
Justin Williams earned his fifth win of the year with five strong innings on the hill, scattering four hits and one run.

Late rally falls short for Beverly

Errors doomed the Panthers as four of the Patriots' nine runs were unearned in a 9-8 loss. Beth Cullen hit a two-run homer in the seventh as Beverly scored five times in the final frame but couldn't push the tying run across. It was the second homer of the game for Cullen, who finished 3 for 3 with three runs and five RBI. Monica Casola drove in three runs for Beverly.

Diana Bean pitched six spotless innings, allowing just three baserunners and no runs as the Falcons (6-3) walked away with it, 12-0 over Revere. Ashley Burnham paced the offense by going 4 for 4 with four runs scored, four RBI and a two-run homer in the fourth. Caraline Moholland added a clutch triple and was 3 for 4 with two runs as the Falcons racked up 18 hits.

Sizzling Salem wins fourth straight in baseball

Playing for the first time on Salem State College's new synthetic turf field, the Witches had it going on both offense and defense in the 10-4 triumph over Revere in the Northeastern Conference. Senior right-hander Justin Williams went six innings for the win, allowing eight hits and just two earned runs. Wes Koen pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
