ACTON —Lawrence High hit only one 3-point shot in its second round loss in the Div. 1 North state tournament.

Enough said.

Also, the fact that Acton-Boxboro High, hit seven of 13 shots from beyond the arc was enough to do in the Lancers, which end the season 15-6.

Hillies bow out

Kayla Pellot carried the offense with 20 points including four 3-pointers, but Acton-Boxboro surged to a strong second-quarter lead and held off Haverhill, 47-35, in Division 1 North first round action. Strong defense from Kelleigh Cokley and Laurel Akuwah helped keep the Hillies within striking distance.

A-B downs Warriors, 68-54

No. 11 Andover closed a 17-point deficit to five early in the fourth quarter but couldn't creep and closer, falling to No. 6 Acton-Boxboro, 68-54 in first round Division 1 North tourney action. Triggering the second half comeback, Joe Bramanti led the Warriors with a game-high 26 points, making his last 11 free throw attempts.
