Then fluid point guard Billy Marsden prowls the perimeter for open shots and Jimmy Zenevitch gobbles up weak-side misses for easy putbacks. Pressure Marsden from end line to end line? Then senior Benny Fernandez steps in to help, deftly dribbling the ball up or feeding Desrosiers at midcourt to create odd-man fast-breaks.

Read More »The Golden Warriors girls ice hockey team improved to 4-1 thanks to the continued strong play of goaltender Megan Pettoruto, who blanked Everett and finished with 13 saves. Pettoruto now has four shutouts on the year, all of which coming in Andover's past four games. Interestingly, the senior netminder has faced exactly 13 shots in each of the past three games.

Read More »The Andover swim team topped Central Catholic 97-80 and barely missed out on placing first in every event in the dual meet. The Golden Warriors lost only the diving and 200 freestyle relay events. Texas bound Nick D’Innocenzo captured a victory in the 200 freestyle (1:56.93) and was also a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team (3:55.87). Paul Hunter (50 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay), Abe Iyengar (200 medley relay, 100 breastroke) and Adam Millerick (500 freestyle, 100 backstroke) each finished with a pair of first place finishes, as well. Central’s Aidan Cusack posted a high score of 151.20 in diving.
