MANCHESTER — Pinkerton's boys showed a nice one-two underclass punch Saturday at the Manchester Invitational Saturday but the Astros did not quite display their usual depth.

Lauren McCloskey hit 500 kills and Kacie Blanchet reached 1,000 assists in Salem's sweep of Memorial. The Blue Devils are now 5-0.

MANCHESTER — First-year Windham coach Jack Byrne is going to remember this one for a while.

But it's not just because he picked up his first win as a head coach, as his Jags took down Manchester Memorial 35-7. It's mainly because of who he was surrounded by.

The Salem boys soccer team certainly made its first win of the season a big one, crushing Manchester Memorial 9-0. Troy Deminico led the Blue Devils with three goals.

The Windham girls lacrosse team had 11 different scorers in a 19-0 rout of Manchester Memorial. Devon Hamilton, Morgan Ross and Madi Connelly each had three goals, while Windham didn't allow a single shot on target.

Alyssa DiMauro couldn't be stopped at the plate. The junior went a perfect 4 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs to lead Pinkerton to a 9-2 win over Manchester Memorial.

After cranking a three-run home run in the bottom of the third, Connor Jenkins proceeded to lace a double in the bottom of the seventh to help Pinkerton walk off with a 6-5 win over Manchester Memorial.

Windham softball coach Dave Hedge probably had mixed feelings as the Jaguars crushed Manchester Memorial, which is coached by daughter Rachel. Sophomore Makayla Panich was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs and classmate Jasmine Moskowitz was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Brooke Kane scored 28 points and Pinkerton dispatched of Manchester Memorial 58-50. Jesse Ames added 12 points for the Astros (14-3).

Kyle Poulin pumped in 14 points and Salem played air-tight defense in 47-26 win over Memorial. Ben Laycock added nine points.
