The Pingree football team could only fool Proctor Academy for so long.

Derek Pratt scored three first-half rushing touchdowns, but the Highlanders couldn't hold on to an 11-point halftime lead against a physically stronger Proctor team. Proctor scored six straight touchdowns for a 42-25 win.

"They have two 300 pound-plus linemen, and they wore us down," Pingree (2-3) coach Chris Powers said. "In reality, if you don't play defense, you're not going to win too much. We played tough, but in the end we were just overmatched a little bit."

Pratt was a huge threat for the Highlanders all game. He caught six passes for 150 yards, ran for 41, and accumulated 74 yards on kick returns.

Senior quarterback Carlos O'Donnell completed 18-of-31 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown. Dillon Vassallo caught the TD pass in the fourth quarter. Vassallo played well both ways, as did Will Taft at linebacker and tight end.
