CAMBRIDGE — Julia Donahue and Eliza Williams scored Andover’s only two victories, but the Golden Warriors still took home the North Sectional swim championship on Sunday at MIT.

Andover finished with 411 points, barely edging Reading (400 points). Reading won the final event, the 400 freestyle relay, and Andover took second to lock up the title.

Donahue, a senior, won the 200 IM in 2:04.53. She also placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.87) and swam on the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay that each placed second.

Williams added Andover’s other win, taking the 500 freestyle in 5:15.13.

The Golden Warriors picked up crucial points thanks to their depth. Mia Galat was second in the 100 butterfly, third in the 200 freestyle and swam on the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. Emily Clements was second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 100 backstroke and swam on a pair of relays. Lauren Bessette was fourth in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 butterfly.

Two-time reigning Eagle-Tribune fall swimming MVP Kerrigan Hemp of Central Catholic won the 50 freestyle (24.56) and was second in the 100 backstroke (56.82). The Raiders placed seventh as a team (131.5 points).

Haverhill was sixth as a team (139), led by Cailey Simard, who took fourth in the diving (410.30).

North Andover’s Malia Amuan was second in the 200 freestyle (1:52.02) and was third in the 100 freestyle (53.20). The Knights were 13th as a team.

Kara Davidson was fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:16.99) and sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:59.67) to lead Methuen, which was 14th as a team.

On the boys side, Methuen’s Quang Vu won the 100 backstroke (59.97) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.57) and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay. The Rangers placed second in the four-team field.
