Andover's Grover wins 500 free

At Sunday night's North Sectional swim meet, Andover placed sixth behind a stellar performance from junior Zach Grover. He won the 500 freestyle and was edged out for first in the 200 IM.

"He's a great competitor," said Sean Geary, the Eagle-Tribune MVP for Andover back in 2004. "He always steps up to the plate. We did better than we expected."

Junior diver Sean Bradshaw placed sixth while sophomore Richard Li was fifth in the 500 free. Grover was also on relay teams which placed fourth and sixth, respectively.

The area's only other top-6 finish came from Central Catholic sophomore Daniel Vasquez (5th, 200 IM).

The Division 1 State Meet is Sunday at BU at 7 p.m.
