Led by sophomore Meghan Cross, the Pinkerton girls ran well at the Nashua Invitational Saturday, compiling just 62 points, but that was four points shy of New England power Champlain Valley and the Astos settled for second.
Cross finished second overall in 19:19.3 on Nashua 3.1-mile course while teammates Maison D'Amelio, Jordan Vaillancourt and Ciarra April finished 12-13-16.
Also running well from the area was Londonderry's Kalin Gregoire in seventh and Salem freshman Emma Gannon in 23rd.
