WINDSOR, Ct. — Phillips found themselves only down three midway through the fourth quarter, but a Loomis Chaffe 3-yard touchdown run by Andre Beckett sealed the 20-10 win for Loomis.
Phillips (0-1) got a good game from quarterback Stephen Hedburg, who threw for 215 yards on 16-of-30 passing and also rushed for a touchdown. Pinkerton transfer running back T.J. Urbanik had 51 all-purpose yards, catching four passes for 49 yards. Austin Meyers had a good day receiving for Phillips, racking up 115 yards on eight receptions.
Down 13-3 entering the fourth quarter, Phillips got it to within three on Hedburg's 1-yard TD run. But Loomis followed that with a long, methodical drive that ended with a 3-yard touchdown run by Andre Beckett - his second touchdown of the game.
Phillips has its home opener Saturday at 6 p.m. against Salisbury School.
