Oyster River scored with 2 1/2 minutes left in the game, ending a dazzling two-way goalie duel with a 2-1 victory over Timberlane.

"It was a battle between two great goalies," Owl head coach Jim Kelly said. "It was a back-and-forth game, but the goalies just carried their teams the whole game."

In his first season as a starter, Timberlane netminder Alex Brown stepped up with his best career effort, turning aside 23 shots. Brown also got stellar help from defenders Ross Thornton, Dom LaRosa and Anthony Gillis.

Andrew Tanner's unassisted score in the third quarter tied the score at the time.

"I think this is the lowest scoring lacrosse game I've been involved with in my 25 years in the sport, from middle school until now," Kelly said. "It's just disappointing to be on the losing end."
