Thornton shines in finale

T.J. Thornton had a brilliant game with 16 carries for 156 yards including a 94-yard touchdown run but Sanborn lost its season finale to Pembroke 20-6.

Thornton was the show for the Indians, who finished up at 0-7. He had 156 of the club's 185 yards of offense. Pembroke improved to 4-2.

Thornton stars, but Sanborn suffers another tough loss

Tavante Thornton once again starred for Sanborn, but the Indians dropped their second straight heart-breaker, falling to Manchester West 21-14 on Saturday.

Thornton carried 17 times for 107 yards and scored both Sanborn touchdowns — on a 10-yard run in the second quarter and a 14-yard run in the fourth.

Sanborn falls short

 

KINGSTON, N.H. — Sanborn played its best football game of the season but fell short of Campbell Friday, falling 20-18.

Quarterback TJ Thornton was a standout in defeat, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns, the first a 60-yard gallop on the first play from scrimmage. He also scored on a 5-yard run.

Hollis-Brookline rolls past Sanborn

KINGSTON — Hollis Brookline (1-2) got into the win column, rolling past Sanborn, 40-7.

The Indians (0-3) snapped the shutout in the fourth quarter when T.J. Thornton scored. Sanborn had some bright moments running the ball with 156 rushing yards led by 45 from Rex Sullivan and 43 from T.J. Thornton. Nick Lucas (4 carries, 28 yards) was injured in the first half and didn't return. The Division 2 Indians host Division 3 Campbell Saturday at 2 p.m. Campbell beat Laconia, 42-24, this weekend.

Hard-running Demmons sparks Pelham in opening romp

PELHAM - Sophomore Ethan Demmons is apparently back to where he belongs.

And the Pelham football team is right back to where it was last year - winning football games.

The Pythons opened their season in rousing fashion Saturday night, crushing an injury-ravaged Sanborn team, 42-0. And Demmons was perhaps the biggest reason why.
