The defending state champion Timberlane volleyball team fell to Hollis-Brookline, 3-2, in the NHIAA Division 1 quarterfinals. The Owls were led by Jake Morrier with 19 kills and Alex Kakouris with 36 assists in the effort.

Jake Morrier and Alex Kakouris made sure their Senior Night was one to remember. Morrier finished with a team-high 11 kills and Kakouris had a team-high 31 assists to help Timberlane sweep Keene, 3-0.

SALEM – Once the unquestioned volleyball force in New Hampshire, Salem had a chance to reclaim some of that luster in a week that began against this year’s front runner and ended Thursday with a match against the two-time defending state champion.

Jacob Stewart had 25 kills, Alex Kakouris was credited with 49 assists and Cameron Ross finished with 43 digs as Timberlane clipped Bishop Guertin, 3-1.

Jake Morrier had 13 kills and 12 service points as Timberlane won its fifth straight, sweeping Winnacunnet 3-0.

Jake Morrier and Jacob Stewart combined for 27 kills as Timberlane swept rival Pinkerton, 3-0. Alex Kakouris had 31 assists to lead the Owls, and Sean Galusha had 9 kills and 3 blocks for the Astros.

Trailing 2-1 in sets, Timberlane surged past Souhegan, winning the fifth set 15-6. Jacob Stewart had 22 kills and Alex Kakouris had 41 assists for the Owls (2-1).

Timberlane overcame a 2-0 deficit, winning three straight sets to top Hollis-Brookline, 3-2. Junior Jacob Stewart led the way with 17 kills, while junior Mike Giangregorio had eight kills, 11 service points and four aces. Senior Alexi Kakouris came up big with 31 assists.

Windham opened the season by sweeping defending state champion Timberlane, 25-20, 25-29, 25-19, for a 3-0 win. Timberlane's Jacon Stewart led with 11 kills, while Windham's Tilman Pitcher had 10. Neil Rea led the Jaguars with 24 assists, while Alexi Kakouris had 22 for the Owls. Timberlane's Cameron Ross led all players with 16 digs.
