Georgetown upsets Masco

For the first time since the 2008-09 season, Georgetown boys basketball beat Masconomet, upending the much larger school in overtime by a score of 91-83 on Tuesday night. Hunter Lane led the Royals with 24 points, Colin Dow added 23 and Justin Murphy scored 20 with four 3-pointers to lead the way. Georgetown's last win over Masco came on Jan. 19, 2009, when the Royals beat the Chieftains 63-60 in overtime.

Bounce back win

Amesbury got a much needed win on Friday, outscoring Georgetown 23-16 in the fourth quarter to win 68-62. John Sydlowski knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on his way to 19 points for the Indians, and Georgetown's Hunter Lane led all scorers with 25 points.

Georgetown boys basketball pounded the glass on its way to a 64-47 win over Manchester Essex Friday night. Hunter Lane scored 18 points with 20 rebounds, Colin Dow added 19 points with 15 rebounds, Brendan Willis had 9 points and 14 rebounds, and freshman Justin Murphy nearly had a triple double with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

Trailing by three late after having earlier led by 20, Georgetown hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime, only for the shot to be waved off, giving Rockport a 58-55 win on Monday afternoon. Hunter Lane led Georgetown with 19 points.

Port pulls off huge comeback

Trailing by 10 going into the fourth quarter, the Newburyport boys basketball team turned on the jets, outscoring Georgetown 19-2 in the final frame to pull out a thrilling 56-49 win on Tuesday. Sophomore Ryan Archie knocked down three 3-pointers on his way to 20 points for the Clippers, while Georgetown was led by a monster performance by Hunter Lane, who scored 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the loss. Colin Dow also fell a couple points shy of a triple double, finishing with 5 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists.
