High 5: Knights dynasty continues

The North Andover domination continued. The five-time regular-season North Shore League champs won their fifth straight Interscholastic (league meet) title. Maria Cavallaro, who is nursing a knee injury, placed second overall with a 46.29 (combined slalom and giant slalom). Masconomet's Faith Stanton was the overall champ in 45.75.
Other top Knights were her twin sister Rachel in third and Sydney Schwalm in eighth. Andover's Anna Souter and Cayley Denoncourt placed fourth and seventh, respectively. Haverhill's Jana Laurendeau, a Billerica High student, placed 11th.

5-peat for Knights

North Andover girls skiing wrapped up its fifth straight unbeaten season in North Shore League action. Coach Jerry Marchegiani said that's never happened before in the 45-year history of NS League girls skiing. The 14-0 Knights got another first from Maria Cavallaro while Sydney Schwalm tok third and Rachel Cavallaro seventh.

Senior standout Maria Cavallaro was runner-up and freshman Sydney Schwalm was an impressive fourth as the North Andover girls ski team remained unbeaten with two wins to improve to 12-0.

The Cavallaro sisters, Maria and Rachel, finished one-two as North Andover's girls skiers remained unbeaten with a pair of wins in North Shore Ski League action. The Knights will square off against also unbeaten Masconomet Wednesday.j

Surprising Soutter

 

Andover's Anna Soutter, who finished 12th in the North Shore Ski League last year, pulled a stunner to open the season, placing first in a time of 22.73. Overall, however, North Andover rolled to two easy wins, including 84.5-50.5, led by the Cavallaro sisters, Maria and Rachel, in third and fourth respectively. Freshman Jane Freund was sixth for the Knights.
