Londonderry's season ends in quarters -- again

MANCHESTER — It appeared the Londonderry boys were on the verge of snapping their state quarterfinal jinx last night.

Second-seeded Trinity, however, ended the seventh-seeded Lancers’ upset bid with a fourth-quarter rally en route to a 49-43 victory before a packed house in the Pioneers’ matchbox gym in the Division 1 playoffs.

Colby's free throws send Lawrence to quarters

CONCORD — The Londonderry boys once again are headed to the Division 1 state quarterfinals, but this year’s road came dangerously close to ending an exit early.

After squandering every bit of a 13-point fourth-quarter lead the seventh-seeded Lancers needed a pair of free throws by Mike Colby over the final 42 seconds to hold off hard-charging, defending-state champion Pinkerton for a 55-53 victory at New Hampshire Technical Institute.

Colby heats up

Michael Colby netted 22 points, canning four 3-pointers in the first half as Londonderry built a 30-17 halftime lead and took out Manchester Memorial, 55-47. The senior Colby added six assists, and co-captain Nick Martinez added 10 points for the Lancers, who have won a pair of Division 1 games after an 0-3 start.
