Lancers ousted

Top seed Bishop Guertin remained unbeaten, dropping No. 5 Londonderry, 6-3, in the Class L semifinals. Kelli Murphy continued her strong season for the Lancers, winning at first singles and joining Erica LaBlanc for victory in first doubles. Bishop Guertin will face Manchester Central for the Class L title Wednesday.

Kelli Murphy won No. 1 singles, Amanda DePasquale took No. 2 singles and they teamed to win No. 1 doubles as No. 5 Londonderry downed No. 4 Manchester Memorial 7-2 in the Class L quarterfinals.

Doubly good

 

Seeking the upset of rival Londonderry, the Pinkerton girls looked deep into the rotation and locked up a pair of doubles victories to clinch it. Seniors Ruth DiTulio and Melissa D'Angelo teamed up for one of the wins, while Julie Accardo and Lee Demeo delivered the other. Accardo, Maggie Preece and Elizabeth Rialdi posted singles wins for Pinkerton.

Winning doubles

Two tough doubles victories allowed Londonderry to persevere for a 5-4 win over Alvirne. Kelli Murphy and Erica LaBlanc pulled out an 8-5 victory while Amanda DePasquale and Amanda Merck battled to an 8-6 triumph.

Londonderry 8, Timberlane 0

Londonderry showed no mercy in a 9-0 verdict over Timberlane. Kelli Murphy was a force for the Lancers, shutting out her first singles opponent and combining with Erica LaBlanc to lose just one game in first doubles. Kelsey Hamel provided the Owls' lone highlight with a strong performance at sixth singles.
