A tie is good enough

Molly Fitzgerald fired a shot to the top corner and beat the Dracut goalie with 16 minutes remaining, giving Haverhill a 1-1 tie and clinching the Merrimack Valley Small Conference title.

Gulbrandsen shuts door again

Haverhill goalie Meghan Gulbrandsen needed 10 saves to tally her eighth shutout season, as the Hillies bested Pentucket 3-0.  Casey Anderson continued her stellar season, scoring all three goals.

Streaking Rangers

Methuen tripped MVC Small-leading Haverhill, 3-2, to stretch its winning streak to five games. Karen Lima scored twice and Alex Levesque scored a goal for the seventh straight game. Earlier in the week the Rangers dumped a tough Dracut squad.

Haverhill 6, Notre Dame (Tyngsboro) 1

Haverhill glided to an easy 6-1 victory over Notre Dame of Tyngsboro. Sophomore outside midfielder Kaleigh Fitzgerald did a great job distributing the ball to keep the Hillies offense going strong. Casey Anderson and Molly Fitzgerald each had a pair of goals and goalie Meghan Gulbrandsen (three saves) even contribued an assist with a fine field-length pass.

Goalie shines again

Haverhill couldn't overcome Billerica but, thanks to sophomore goalie Meghan Gulbrandsen, the reverse was true as well.

Gulbrandsen stopped 12 shots and notched her third shutout of the year as the Hillies (2-1-1) tied Billerica 0-0. She has given up only one goal all year. "She saved us today," said coach Fred Tarbox.

Sophomore Meghan Gulbrandsen turned away 18 Dracut shots for her first shutout of the year in Haverhill's 2-0 win over Dracut. Elyssa Penney broke the scoreless tie midway through the second half on a sweet cross from Casey Anderson.
