Central Catholic's unbeaten girls (8-0) had their closest game of the season but held off Billerica 43-39 to advance to Thursday's MVC Cup finals at 7:30 at Chelmsford. Adrianna Niles led the offense with 14 points with freshman Ashley Dinges chipping in with 13.

Ashley Dinges scored 19 points and Leah Deleon (10) and Samantha Guertin (8) had career highs as Central rolled past Haverhill, 67-45. Cailyn Scharneck, Adrianna Niles and Deleon played brilliant to hold Hillie scoring machine Colleen Phiri (13 points) in check. Kya Burdier lead HHS with 16.

Central in thriller

Central Catholic tripped Andover, 50-43 in overtime, behind the stellar play of Ashley Dinges. The freshman from Haverhill, who last year was at Bradford Christian, had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Adrianna Niles led the Raiders with 18 points. Tatum Shaw erupted for 31 for host Andover.

Andover sophomore Anna Foley left game late in the first quarter with a knee injury and didn't return.
