Pentucket freshman Tyler Knox continued to dominate Saturday in the Division 3 North sectional, rolling to the 106-pound title with pins in 43, 41 and 36 seconds to raise his record to 38-0 on the year.

Sachems now 15-8

 

Pentucket won two meets at the Travis Yell dual tournament, which was won by Triton, as the Sachems improved to 15-8. Chris Legacy, who is now 32-9 on the year, was 2-0 at 145 and Korey Scheffen improved to 32-8 with a pair of wins at 152.

Pentucket placed six wrestlers in the finals, which was more than any other team, crowned three champions and placed third overall in the Cape Ann League/NEC meet.

Taking first and remaining unbeaten was 106-pounder Tyler Knox, who defeated Masconomet star Ian Darling 8-6 in the finals, while he was joined in the winner's circle

Pentucket placed six wrestlers in the finals, which was more than any other team, crowned three champions and placed third overall in the Cape Ann League/NEC meet.

Taking first and remaining unbeaten was 106-pounder Tyler Knox, who defeated Masconomet star Ian Darling 8-6 in the finals, while he was joined in the winner's circle by Chris Legacy (145) and Jason Young (182).Legacy had a major decision in the finals and Young had a pin.

Scheffen on fire

 

Pentucket's Korey Scheffen continued his red-hot wrestling, going 4-0 with four pins in a five-team meet at Watertown in which the Sahcems went 3-1 to improve to 11-4-1 on the year. Tyler Knox was also 4-0 with four pins and Jason Young was 4-0 with three pins.

Fort Knox

 

Tyler Knox had three first-period pins to remain unbeaten and pace Pentucket to two wins and a tie in a quad-meet. Also, Chris Legacy, Nic Williamson and Korey Scheffen were perfect on the day with two pins as the Sachems improved to 8-2-1.

Jackson secures win

 

Freshman Tucker Jackson got a second period pin in the last match of the meet to give Pentucket a 42-36 win over Gr. Lowell and a split in a tri-meet that included Brookline. Tyler Knox and Chris Legacy were both 2-0 with two pins.

Depth gives Methuen titleta

 

Methuen may not have quite the star power as in the past, but the Rangers still have solid depth as they showed Saturday by placing first in the Wakefield Tournament. 

The Rangers placed 12 wrestlers and came away with three champions among five finalists. Placing first for Methuen were sophomore Adam Rader, who had a first period pin in the 113-pound finals, 145-pounder Zabian Cruz and heavyweight Dereck Ramirez. Cruz is a repeat champ at Wakefield while Ramirez won his first crown.

Tim Beech got a late takedown and pin at 160 and David Gill got a pin at 195 in his first varsity match to spark Pentucket's wrestling team to a 42-27 win over North Reading/Lynnfield 42-27.

Jason Young, giving up nearly 15 pounds, was 3-0 at 195 to pace Pentucket to two of three wins in a meet at Gloucester. Tyler Knox and Kory Scheffen were also 3-0 on the day as the Sachems improved to 3-1.
