Makayla Ferullo had 23 points and six 3-pointers as Methuen upset Brockton, 54-46. Olivia Barron added 12 points and 9 boards. The Rangers finished 9-11 under first-year coach David Giribaldi, narrowly missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2012-13 season. With only two seniors graduating, the Rangers should be a team to watch next fall.

Allbee clutch late

Kayla Allbee hit two free throws with 20 seconds left to give Methuen a 51-50 win over Newburyport (8-3), one of the top clubs in the Cape Ann League. Sophomore Olivia Barron (16 points, 11 rebounds) continues to shine for the Rangers and Makayla Ferullo (14 points) hit some big hoops late for 6-6 Methuen.
