Pentucket wallops overmatched Boston Latin

BOSTON — Brandon Wilbur scored three touchdowns on two long runs and a pick-6 and Pentucket pummelled Boston Latin, 37-0, in a non-playoff game.

It was 28-0 after one period and 37-0 at the half and then the Sachems, who improved to 2-6, went deep into the bench.

Pentucket can't keep pace with Saugus

WEST NEWBURY — For a moment, Pentucket had taken control of the game.

On the third play of the fourth quarter, Sachems defensive back Brandon Wilbur intercepted a pass and returned it to the Saugus 33-yard line. Seven plays later, Wilbur hauled in a pass from his QB, Gus Flaherty, for an 8-yard touchdown.

BOXFORD - After Masconomet recovered a Pentucket fumble on its fourth play of Friday night's game, the hosts' offense the field for the first time determined to put together statement drive.

Eight plays later, Pete Kitsakos plunged into the end zone to cap a drive where the Chieftains never attempted a pass. The statement was made - and the message carried all night.

“I was dropped back in coverage,” he said. “Then I looked up and saw our linemen getting to their quarterback. I saw the ball come out, and I knew that was the game and we had a hard win.”
