Freiermuth, Lambert go out on top

NEW HAMPTON, N.H. — With the game still in doubt as the clock ran down, Pat Freiermuth made certain that he would end his high school football career on top.

“The coaches send me on an ‘X’ (blitz) and the quarterback made a late read,” said the Brooks senior from Merrimac. “I just went in and stripped it. I knew it was over then.”

Brooks falls on late score

ANDOVER — Brooks fought back from a two-touchdown defecit to tie it's game with Buckingham Browne & Nichols heading into the fourth quarter. But a 1-yard TD run by BB&N quarterback Ryan Eamer with 6 seconds left in regulation earned the visitors a 28-21 victory.

Freiermuth, Lambert fuel Brooks

NEEDHAM — Brooks made sure to get the ball to Pat Freiermuth early and often.

The hullking 6-foot-5, 240-pound Penn State-bound tight end accounted for 165 total yards and three touchdowns, helping Brooks beat St. Sebastian, 35-26, Saturday afternoon.

Brooks hammers Middlesex for fourth straight win

NORTH ANDOVER — Seamus Lambert of North Andover had three touchdown passes and Pat Freiermuth of Merrimac scored three touchdowns for Brooks, which did all its scoring in the first half of a 38-7 shellacking of Middlesex.
Lambert found Terrell Brown for a 40-yard score 3:15 into the game and Brooks went up 14-0 with 3:11 left in the Corner when Lambert found Chris Capo of West Newbury for a 20-yard score.
The multi-talented fifth-year senior Freiermuth had all three of his TDs in the second quarter. He scored on a 28-yard pass, a 35-yard fumble recovery and a 56-yard interception return on the final play of the half.

Brooks takes apart Thayer

 

NORTH ANDOVER — Thayer Academy came into the game undefeated and hadn't given up a point all year, but Brooks took care of both accomplishments in a big way Saturday.

The Green and White ran and passed their way to a 42-21 victory, lifting Brooks to its third win in four games.

Brooks' offense erupts

 

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — The long drive to St. Georges must have made the Brooks football team anxious to get going.

The Green and White erupted for 30 points in the first quarter and had 51 at halftime before easing off for a 51-21 victory.

Freiermuth, Lambert lead Brooks

GROTON — Merrimac's Pat Freiermuth returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown, and North Andover's Seamus Lambert had a 5-yard TD run to help lead Brooks past Groton 28-3.

The two local stars scored their touchdowns in the third quarter to help put the game away. Brooks scored its first TD on a 4-yard Jaylen Cromwell run, and Groton's Samuel Girian kicked a 23-yard field goal to make it 7-3 at halftime.

Brooks football struggles in opener

NORTH ANDOVER — Brooks fell behind by three touchdowns early and could not recover, dropping its opener to Governor's Academy 23-7 on Saturday.

Brooks' lone points came in the fourth quarter. Jaylen Cromwell picked off a pass and ran it back 40 yards for a touchdown.
