No. 11 Acton-Boxboro ousted No. 6 Haverhill, 3-1, in the first round of the North volleyball tourney. For the Hillies, Declan Davis had 16 kills and 15 digs and Cooper Gibbs supplied 44 assists and 15 digs.

Behind 13 kills from Josh Wojtas and 28 digs from Jeremy DeRoche, Haverhill had no issues sweeping Central Catholic on the road. Cooper Gibbs had 32 assists in the win, and Declan Davis got up to make three blocks for the hungry Hillies.

Jeremy DeRoche notched 28 digs and Declan Davis and Mike Whitcom each had 10 kills as Haverhill beat Lowell 25-13, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Haverhill volleyball swept Methuen, 3-0, as Matt Connolly (7), Mike Whitcomb (7) and Declan Davis (6) combined for 20 kills.

Jeff Hunt had 37 assists and Devin Dean supplied 25 kills and 20 service points for Andover, which rolled past Haverhill, 3-0.

Yanni Kakouris scored 25 digs as Timberlane battled for a hard-fought 27-25, 25-23, 25-23 victory over Haverhill. Sam Hovan added 19 kills for the Owls, who improved to 9-0 while dropping the Hillies to 6-2.

In a battle of unbeatens, Timberlane's volleyball team swept Haverhill. Sam Hovan had 15 kills for the Owls (5-0) and Matt Perry led the team in assists and service points.

Marcus Girard had 30 assists and Haverhill beat Lowell, 3-0, to improve to 5-0. Jeremy DeRoche added 11 digs.
