NORTH ANDOVER — At one point with about five minutes to play in the second half, Brooks School boys assistant coach Mike O’Connor pleaded with with his sensational Bryant University-bound point guard Ikenna Ndugba.

The Brooks School boys basketball team made history on Sunday, beating Rivers 63-42 to win the New England Prep School Athletic Conference Class B championship for the first time since 1981. Ikenna Ndugba scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to win tournament MVP honors, Merrimac's Pat Freiermuth added 12 points and senior captain Jalen Martinez of Methuen scored the final basket of the game.

Leading by just two at the half, Brooks dominated the second half to beat Canterbury, 75-51. Ikenna Ndugba (21 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists) was brilliant and Fru Che tossed in 14 points

Ceasar Adim came back from a knee injury to score his first points of the year and Pat Freiermuth was a force with a season-high 23 points and 10 rebounds as Brooks topped Roxbury Latin 58-45. The Green and White went 15-0 in the ISL for the second straight year.

The Brooks boys basketball team clinched its second straight Independent School League title with a 63-39 romp over St. Mark's. Sophomore Brian Wright-Kinsey had five 3-pointers and a career-high 19 points, along with eight rebounds, to lead the way.

Former Pentucket standout Pat Freiermuth led the way with 19 points and 12 points as Brooks clinched at least a share of the ISL title for the second straight year with a 58-43 victory over Milton Academy.

The Brooks boys basketball team opened up a two-game lead over second-place Belmont Hill in Tuesday's 61-44 win, with Merrimac's Pat Freiermuth leading the way with 17 points.

Ikeena Ndugba scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and overtime to lead Brooks over Rivers Academy 67-60. Ndugba also sniffed a triple-double, hauling in 8 boards while dishing out 8 assists. 

Brooks had an impressive 61-42 victory over a strong Phillips Exeter team, only giving up 15 points in the second half. Fru Che had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Brooks (12-4). For Phillips Exeter (14-3), Max Kirsch had a superb game with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Brooks cruised past BBN, 77-43, to give 13th-year coach John McVeigh his 200th win at the school. 

Tamenang Choh scored 11 points and Keigan Kerby 10.
