With its win today, Windham clinched the Division 2 dual meet. Nick Sawyer was the fastest to pin his opponent at 1:25, and Patrick Hume took care of the heavyweight division in 3:24 for the Jaguars.

Big Jaguars' win

 

Windham's wrestling team won the battle of undefeated Division 2 teams, outlasting Milford 42-34. Jon Ferri picke d up his 100th career win with a pin at 195 while Nick Sawyer (113), Sam Cavallaro (126) and Patrick Hume (285) had first-period pins and Peter Caron sealed the win with a 4-1 decision at 132.

Windham 4th at Concord

 

In what has turned into one of the tougher tournaments in northern New England, Windham placed fourth in the 21-team Capital Classic in Concord.

Bishop Hendricken was first with 195 1/2 points, 17 points ahead of the runner-up host Crimson Tide. Windham had 153 points, 21 points and two places better than nearby rival Pinkerton.

Tanguay delivers

 

In a close meet with Hollis-Brookline, Mike Tanguay pinned the No. 1-ranked 182-pounder in the state, Caleb Lomme, to spark Windham (17-7-1) to a 42-36 victory.

Cavallaro, Tanguay shine

 

Windham had a rough day against tough competition, losing dual meets to St. John's Prep, Lincoln-Sudbury and Shawsheen before toppling West Springfield. Sam Cavallaro had a banner day at 113, however, with three pins (including one in 10 seconds) and a technical fall and Mike Tanguay was 4-0 with four opins at 182. Heavyweight Patrick Hume was 3-1 at heavyweight, his only loss to North Andover's Jay Carnevale of St. John's Prep, who is unbeaten on the year.

Trailing 33-24 with three matches remaining, Windhame stormed back for a a 39-33 victory over host Pinkerton and the title in the second annual Pinkerton Border Wars Duals Tournament.

Windham rolled over Goffstown 48-19, the highlight being a 5-3 decision by 113-pounder Sam Cavallaro over Lowell Holiday placers Jac St. Jean. Peter Caron, Matt Lowman and Patrick Hume had first-period pins for the Jaguars (11-2).

Windham falls to Concord

 

Windham improved to 10-2 with a pair of wins but driopped a decisive 53-18 decision to Div. 1 Concord. Sam Cavallaro, Peter Caron. Jon Ferri and Patrick Hume were all 3-0 with Hume beating Concord standout Tyshawn Robers in overtime.

Windham flexed its muscles in the upper weights in a tri-meet sweep of Salem (55-24) and Bishop Guertin (57-16), sweeping the final four weight classes. From 182 to heavyweight, Mike Tanguay, Jon Ferri, Mike Furey and Patrick Hume were all 2-0.

Windham places 2nd

 

Despite missing injured standout Jon Ferri among others, Windham finished second at the Hollis-Brookline Invitational. Sam Cavallaro had his best performance of the season, placing first at 113 while both Riley Millette (106) and Mike Tanguay (182) were runners-up.
