Fairweather continues record-setting season in win

LONDONDERRY - Eric Fairweather came close, real close, to reaching two milestones in Londonderry's 22-13 victory over Nashua South. Fairweather, the Lancers QB, reached 1,031 yards on the ground for the season with his 140 rushing yards Friday. But he just missed reaching the 1,000-yard passing plateau. With his 134 yards passing against Nashua South, Fairweather now has 981 yards passing for the season. He has a chance to reach that statistical milestone in a huge game against Salem next Friday at Salem High. Fairweather was his usual dominant self Friday. He rushed for TDs of 63 and 5 yards and also connected with receiver Nick Donnelly for a 17-yard TD score. But the QB did throw three interceptions as Nashua South made a comeback after trailing 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Michael Ryan added six rushes for 69 and Jimmy Nee ran three times for 24 yards. David Wiedenfeld caught two passes for 48 yards. Salem, meanwhile, beat Nashua North 12-7 on Friday. Salem and Londonderry both enter next Friday's Halloween game with 7-1 records. The winner of that game goes to the playoffs and the other team's season will end.
