NASHUA —  Just as the ball fell to the floor for the clinching point of the match, Timberlane’s Mike Murphy exploded with emotion, sprinting a lap around half court before joining his teammates.

Evan Todd notched 10 kills, Andrew Lowman seven blocks, Tucker Lippold 12 assists and Tim Erdlen 11 digs. Those were the most impressive numbers as Windham blanked Bishop Guertin, 3-0, in the quarterfinals.

Windham nipped Pinkerton in the fifth game, 16-14, to take a five game volleyball barnburner in a battle of state title contenders. Evan Todd led Windham, (14-2) with 15 kills. Kyle Heidler had 25 assists for the Astros (12-4).

Tucker Lippold had 11 assists, giving him more than 1,000 for his career, and also had five aces and 10 service points as Windham blanked Bishop Guertin in volleyball.

Jake Slepian's four blocks, 18 assists and two aces led Salem volleyball 3-1 over Windham in a rematch of last year's state title game, which Salem also won 3-1. 

Tucker Lippold had 20 assists while adding eight kills and three blocks as Windham's volleyball team won its second straight, 2-0 over Londonderry.
