MANCHESTER, N.H. — With the first trip to the state championship in program history within reach, No. 3 Londonderry hockey pushed No. 2 Manchester Central to the limits for 45 minutes, including a pair of shots on goal in the final seconds of regulation.

SALEM — Just when people were wondering if anyone would break through the stellar, overtime net play, Curtis Harper put an end to a classic Division I quarterfinal.

The junior forward made Mike Donlan's assist pay off with a wrap-around winner that provided third-seeded Londonderry with a tough 3-2 victory over sixth-seeded Salem.

Curtis Harper netted his first hat trick of the season as the Londonderry hockey team whipped Nashua North 6-2. Eric Coburn added two goals and two assists for the Lancers (14-4-2).

Cody Soucy and Kyle Svenson each scored twice as Salem rallied from a first period deficit to beat Londonderry for its first win of the season, 7-2.

Londonderry opened its boys hockey season with a 5-1 victory over Exeter as five different players scored goals and five others had assists. Curtis Harper had a goal and an assist.
