Hillies roll on

 

Haverhill's volleyball team had no problem with MVC foe Methuen in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament last night, sweeping the Rangers in three games. the Hillies (15-4) were dominant at the net as Haley DeRoche had 15 kills, Allison Lahiff chipped in with 12 kills and Abigail Sonuga added 10.

Haverhill's girls volleyball team wrapped up its best regular season since 2003 with a sweep of Lowell. The MVC Dic. 2 champs, who got strong games at the net from Haley DeRoche and Abigail Sonuga, improved to 14-4.

Haverhill clipped Tewksbury, 3-1, to clinch the MVC Division 2 title. The 12-4 Hillies were led by Stephanie Cordeiro, who had a whopping nine aces, and Megan Tracy, who had nine kills.

Surging Raiders

 

Central Catholic's improving volleyball team won its second straight match against a winning team by a 3-0 score, this time sweeping Haverhill in three. Amanda Williams had eight kills and three blocks for the Raiders (10-4) while Abigail Sonuga led the Hillies (10-4) with nine kills.

The Haverhill volleyball team swept Saugus in resounding fashion to improve to 9-2 and qualify for the state tournament. Haley DeRoche led a balanced attack with six kills and added eight digs.
