Petrow finishes strong

Amanda Petrow scored 23 points and took in 20 rebounds but it wasn't enough for Methuen, who finished the regular season with a 64-56 loss to Tewksbury. Abby Galloway-Burke added 12 for the Rangers (8-12).

Methuen, in a battle of teams battling to make the tournament, defeated Needham 50-45, holding the host team to five points in the fourth quarter. Amanda Petrow had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Rangers (8-9) and Beka Costa played an excellent all-around game.

With leading scorers Abby Galloway-Burke and Amanda Petrow on the bench with foul trouble, Rosie Rodriguez and Courtney Zacharias came off the bench to keep Methuen close in a 43-39 victory over Beverly. Galloway-Burke  came back to score 12 points and pull down 11 rebounds.

Bouncing back

A commanding third quarter reversed a Dracut halftime lead and sent Methuen to a 49-43 victory. Abby Galloway Burke (14 points and 20 rebounds) and Amanda Petrow (14 points and 13 boards) both posted their third double-doubles of the season. Courtney Hale made savvy decisions on the offensive end and Molly Condon played a big role in the Rangers' turnaround.
