Timberlane wins title

Dakota Vondrasek scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Timberlane to a 44-39 victory over the host Bobcats to win the Oyster River Christmas Tournament. Emily Rose and Becky MacDougall added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Vondrasek, who scored 42 points in the Owls' three wins, was named the tourney's MVP and MacDougall was named to the all-tournament team.

Dakotah does it!

Masha Lange set a nice screen, Becky MacDougall's pass was on the money and Dakotah Vondrasek finished it off perfectly with a layup with four seconds left as Timberlane won a 39-38 thriller over Portsmouth. It was Vondrasek's only points of the day. Emily Rose (16) and MacDougall (10) led the Owls, who blew a 34-22 fourth-quarter lead.

Becky MacDougall scored 12 points, collected 12 rebounds and made six steals to lead Timberlane girls basketball to a 52-31 victory over Spaulding.

"She's been working very hard at her game and has improved a lot," Timberlane coach Bruce Johnson said. "She's a swing player who plays both forward and guard for us. She's been doing a lot for us."
