Windham upset

 

Windham's volleyball team took a 2-0 lead but lost the next three games to Somerswoth and bowed out of the tournament with a 15-4 record in only its second year of competition. Melissa Cino was a powerhouse with 31 service points that included six aces. She also had 31 assists.

Windham storms into quarters

Windham, a second-year varsity volleyball team, won its first ever tourney game, easily dispatching of Portsmouth 25-20, 25-20, 25-13.

"It feels awesome. It feels great. It's a huge accomplishment for us as a program," said Jaguars coach Jill Bartlett.

Windham's volleyball team improved to 10-2 after a relatively easy sweep of Hanover yesterday, thanks largely to the strong serving of Kerry White and Tess Powell. They combined for six aces and 30 points.

Windham redemption

 

Trailing in games 2-1, Windham's volleyball team won the last two games to edge Bedford, the same team that beat the Jaguars (7-1) in the playoffs last year. Kerry White led the way at the net with 15 kills and two blocks while Cristy Theriault had a stunning 26 service points, including six aces.

Meghan things happen

The combination of Melissa Cino and Meghan Gosselin was effective for a Windham volleyball team that came back from a one-game deficit to roll past Souhegan. Cino (31 assists, five digs and two aces) was a "rock star" according to head coach Jill Bartlett due to her infectious hustle and effective passing, especially to Gosselin (13 kills and five aces) to drive the offense.
