DIVISION 1 OVERVIEW: It's tough to dispute two-time defending champ Pinkerton as the team to beat. Although, Salem took every step but the last one with Pinkerton the last two seasons, and the Blue Devils return a backfield full of talent. Don't shed a tear for the Astros, who may need time to re-load but carry a 14-game win streak into the season. Londonderry is out to prove its 2006 return to the playoffs was no fluke. The addition of transfer Ryan Griffin, a 6-6, 210-pound quarterback/tight end who has been offered a scholarship by UNH, should pay big dividends. Nashua South, Concord and Manchester Central lead the hunt for the final playoff spot.

DIVISION 2 OVERVIEW: The last five titles have gone to either Bishop Guertin or Exeter, and until somebody breaks that chain. "Both look tough again, and then it's a bunch of other guys looking to get in," said Timberlane coach Mike Pariseau. Pariseau expects the youthful Owls to battle Keene, Winnacunnet and Spaulding for the final two playoff spots.

DIVISION 3-4-5 OVERVIEW: Pelham High again hopes to mount a challenge to two-time defending champ Bishop Brady of Concord. Franklin will again be the No. 1 threat to knock off the champs. Defending champ St. Thomas of Dover and Hanover are the team to beat in Division 4. Souhegan, Plymouth and Laconia look strong in Division 3.
