1.Gloucester (13-0): After recording back-to-back shutouts en route to the Division 2A Super Bowl championship and an unbeaten season, this year's Fishermen -- who never lost the top spot in the Power Rankings -- must be considered one of the top GHS teams of all time.

5.Masconomet (10-2): Chieftains had the misfortune of running into a Gloucester buzzsaw in the playoffs, but that shouldn't deter an otherwise excellent season for the two-time Cape Ann League Large champions.

6.Andover (8-3): At a school known for its prolific quarterbacks, nobody ever enjoyed a season like Mike Pierce (2,127 passing yards and 20 TDs this fall).

7.Greater Lawrence (12-1): The Reggies capped off their season for the ages by whipping East Boston, 19-6, in the EMass Division 3A Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium.

8.Pentucket (8-3): Bruising Matt Fiore opening holes for Nate Bunnell was quite a combination for the Sachems.

9.Manchester Essex (8-3): Couldn't escape daunting pressure from eventual Division 4 titlist Brighton in the playoff semifinals.

10.Bishop Fenwick (7-4): If not for a series of injuries to its starting front seven, the Crusaders might have very well earned themselves a playoff berth out of the Catholic Central League Large.

11.Londonderry, N.H. (7-4): The Lancers never seemed to catch a break, but they sent off legendary coach Tom Sawyer with another fine season.

12.St. John's Prep (6-5): Disappointing year on the whole, but thrilling Thanksgiving win over Xaverian gives hope for better things in 2008.
