Andover ski-daddles to top

In a midseason battle of North Shore Ski League unbeatens at soggy Bradford Ski Tow, Andover's depth outweighed Masconomet's big guns in a 70-65 victory. Jess Kearns, senior Erin Christopher and freshman sister Kerry Christopher finished 3-4-5 for the 5-0 Golden Warriors to help provide the separation needed to win.

Andover girls win All-Star meet

The Andover girls took the top spot with a score of 597 in yesterday's North Shore Ski League Interscholastic All-Star Meet. Jessica (fourth, 52.94) and Kate Kearns (sixth, 54.14) led the way for the Warriors, and Erin Christopher (seventh, 54.19) also placed in the top 10. North Andover's Melissa Curley had a combined time of 54.43, good for eighth overall.

Owls fly past eight

Christine Robichaud placed second in the giant slalom and was eighth in the slalom as Timberlane placed first in a nine-team meet. Sarah Redman added a fifth in the giant slalom and a seventh in the slalom for the Owls.

Battle of unbeatens

In a battle of the league's two remaining undefeated ski teams, Masconomet narrowly beat Andover by 0.02 to secure a 68-67 victory. Jackie Guy was pivotal in the second place showing, taking second with a time of 23.01. Erin Christopher was close behind, taking third at 23.10. Melissa Curley came in fourth for North Andover in 23.23, and Alison Kimball finished 14th (24.04) for Haverhill.

Robichaud, Goldfarb lead Owls

Christine Robichaud and Alyssa Goldfarb helped lead the Timberlane girls ski team to a second place finish, losing out on first to Keene by just a single point. Robichaud took second in the giant slalom (69.13) and seventh in the slalom (71.09), while Goldfarb won the giant slalom (68.16) and placed 13th in the slalom (77.77). Timberlane freshman Allison Lord had an impressive showing in the slalom (76.32). Londonderry's top finish was a 23rd place showing by Samantha Sciuto in the slalom (91.84). Sciuto also finished 24th in the giant slalom (90.00).

Kearns sisters key in Andover win

The Andover girls ski team improved to 4-0 thanks to a 108-point showing in yesterday's meet. Jessica Kearns took fifth (21.75) and sister Kate placed 11th (22.64). Sixth place went to Jackie Guy (21.77), Sarah Heath came in ninth (22.20), Erin Christopher took 14th (22.74), and Patricia Conrad placed 15th (22.82).
