Back to back for Knights

North Andover clinched its second straight CAL title by whipping Masconomet, 60-26. Candace Waldie remained unbeaten in the league in the shot put and Katrina Martyn remained perfect in the distances. Dana McManus was a double winner (300, relay). The Knights posted their second straight 10-0 season. Prior to last year, the Scarlet and Black last won the title in 1995.

Lancers break 8-year slump

Seniors Kim Pham, Shanice Fountain, Giselle Munoz and Melanie Lilly all delivered big performances as Lawrence whipped Notre Dame of Tyngsboro 63-21.

Lancer coach Anthony Ellis said it was the team's first victory "in at least eight years.''

Moburg earns two first-place finishes

Londonderry's Erika Moburg continued her strong track season by placing first in the 55 meter dash and tied for first in the long jump  at the New Hampshire Indoor Track League meet yesterday. She ran the 55 in 7.40 seconds and had a long jump of 16-05 feet.

Cronin jumps to knew record

Andover's Moira Cronin continues to reach record heights.

The Golden Warrior junior smasher her own Eagle-Tribune area record in the high jump with a 5-10 as Andover cruised past Billerica 63-22. Cronin had previously set the mark with a 5-9 in the spring. According to Warriors coach Peter Comeau, the 5-10 was the second best jump for a girl in the coutry this year.

Yocum states her case

With a personal-best high jump of five feet, Bre Yocum qualified for states as part of Pentucket's 46-40 victory over Ipswich. Lexi Kitsakos impressed with a victory in the 40-yard dash (5.42) and a second in the high jump (4-10) as the Sachems (8-1) won their seventh straight meet.

Ordway wins first in 300

Taylor Ordway captured first place in the  300 with a time of 43.86. She also helped Timberlane's 4x400 relay team to a first place finish at the Seacoast Championship Meet at University of Southern Maine. Timberlane took fourth and Sanborn placed seventh at the 11 team meet.

Londonderry's Becca Parascandola won the high jump (5-4), long jump (16-4) and hurdles (8.4) at a quad-meet. Salem's Melissa Higgins ruled the 600 and Pinkerton's Cayla Pellegrini impressed in winning the 1,500.

Silver lining

Central Catholic used three second-place finishes to tie for second at the Division 2 state relays. Lanie Jowett, Megan Jowett, Alexa Poulin and Nicolette Pelrine combined to set a new school record of 12.:58.93 in the distance medley.
