St. John's Prep Runner Mike Masse, a resident of North Andover, was named the MVP of the Tri-County League during the League Championship meet at the Reggie Lewis Center. Masse then went on to win the 1,000 meter race with a time of 2:34.50.

Seniors Adderly Gonzalez (1,000), Ramses Rafael (600) and Manny Paulino (shot put) all won their events to lead Lawrence to a win over Dracut.

According to coach Sully Grella, Armando Bucciarelli's first place 6-4 1/2 high jump leap in Central Catholic's 62-24 victory over Chelmsford is now the new area best in the event. Also claiming firsts for the Raiders were John DiBitetto (dash), Mike Sullivan (hurdles), Brandon Walsh (300), Victor Silva (1,000), Nate Webber (mile) and Zack Borrelli (shot put).

In a really close battle, Haverhill broke into the winning column with a 43-39 victory over Lawrence. Tim Nutter paced the victory for the Hillies (1-4) as he was triumphant in the hurdles (7.6) and the high jump (5-6). Adderly Gonzalez continued a soild season for the Lancers (1-4), winning the 600 (1:21.2) and running the anchor leg in the victorious relay.

Haverhill's boys track team had some unlikely heroes in a 43-39 win over Lawrence. Tim Nutter not only won the hurdles but had his best clear in the high jump to take first and Kyle Sullivan won the high jump on his final attempt.

Methuen boys track captured the 15th indoor dual-meet title in school history, beating Billerica 60-26. Adam Avedisian and Mark Dougherty finished 1-2 in the 300 to help the Rangers finish 6-0 on the regular season. Josh Adams took first in the 50 (5.6). He hasn't lost a race so far this winter.

Scott Waller took the 2-mile in 10:16 as Andover won every event on its way to besting Chelmsford 70-19. Simon Voorhees added a win in the mile and ran on the winning 4x400 relay. 

 Central cruised past Dracut with Phil Taberner (50) and Nate Webber (1,000) setting season bests in their victories.

At yesterday's Division 1 relays, Methuen earned three qualifiers for the Mass state meet.  In the 4x200, Josh Adams, Josue Henriquez, Adam Avedsian and Mark Dougherty finished fifth overall in a time of 1:34.94.
