North Reading saved its best free throw shooting for the end, hitting 10 of 12 in the fourth quarter to upset Pentucket, 61-55, and remain alive for a tourney berth. Trailing by two going into the fourth, Nick Rosano (game-high 23 points) connected on 5 of 6 from the line to get the Hornets over the top. Corey McNamara kept the Sachems close with 21 points including six 3-pointers. Nolan Dragon returned to the Pentucket lineup after a football injury, scoring seven points.

Angel bedevils Newburyport

In just his second varsity start, Angel Sanquintin came up huge for Georgetown in its 58-56 victory over Newburyport. With the fourth-quarter shot clock twice nearing zero, the sophomore nailed a jumper and a clutch 3-pointer for the Royals. Classmate Johnny Spears had steals that he coverted into three big points in the late going.

Steve Spirou exploded for a career-high 41 points as Pelham downed Hollis-Brookline 75-66. That point total matched the 41 former Pythons superstar Justin Hojlo posted against Souhegan during the 2008-09 season. Spirou sunk 16 shots and added nine free throws.
