Brooks junior Andrew Konovalchik of North Andover won the 160-pound division at the 43-team Prep New Englands. Konovalchik, who was runner-up last year and was fifth as a freshman, went 4-0 on the day with two pins, a major decision and a 15-9 win in the finals over of Dan Toubman of Nobles.

Brooks' Andrew Konovalchik of North Andover won the 160 weight class at the ISL tournament and helped Brooks take fifth as a team. Belmont Hill won the tournament with 246 points.

The Windham wrestling team clinched the Division 3 regular season title outright with a resounding 44-22 rout of Plymouth. Shiloh VanHyll had a key pin in the second match over a returning state finalist to spark the win and Chris Ferri and Peter Caron had first-period pins for the Jaguars (16-1)

Concord has traditionally given the Timberlane wrestling team its stiffest instate challenge, but that was not the case last night as the Owls smashed the Crimnson Tide 58-9. The Owls (23-2) won 12 of 14 weight classes, highlighted by Josh Riley's 18-second pin following a great throw at 170. Jake Kappler had a solid 7-2 decision at 132. 

DERRY — On a memorable Senior Night for the Pinkerton wrestling team, it was a sophomore who led the way.

Jean-Luc Lemieux, who has had his ups and downs since moving up three weight classes to 126, was in peak form yesterday as he pinned Salem senior star Jon Rheaume, who won his weight class at the rugged Methuen Tournament, in the second period to spark Pinkerton to a 48-18 victory.

For the first time in program history, North Reading-Lynnfield wrestling posted a perfect regular season record, going 25-0.

Neither North Reading or Lynnfield ever had a perfect season when they were separate programs, too. 

Lawrence (20-4)  tuned up for next week's showdown with North Andover by whipping Lowell 41-23. Anfernee  Green continued to wrestle well, recording a first-period pin at 132.

In a battle of two of the top Division 3 wrestling teams in the state, North Reading/Lynnfield remained undefeated (22-0) by clipping Wayland (23-2), which suffered just its second loss of the season. North Reading won nearly all the close matches, none more important than Max Whyman's 5-3 decision at 120 and Tom Arseneault's clinching 4-3 win at 220.

Sparked by Shaib Blount's 19-second pin, Whittier Tech recorded four pins in the first minute in a 58-18 romp over Cambridge Rindge & Latin, lifting the Wildcats to 12-6-1 on the season.

Pentucket's wrestling team clinched its first winning season in five years with a 51-18 romp over Andover. The Sachems (13-9) had seven pins in eight wins with Kevin Clark's 24-second pin at 138 the fastest.
