Showdown no contest

In a battle of unbeatens, Timberlane blasted a good Winnacunnet team, 43-12. Shane Tremblay, who won a wrestleoff, was "Wrestler of the Meet" with a 6-3 decision at 189 over Timberlane coach Barry Chooljian's nephew, Rob Chooljian, for the Owls (8-0) and Dylan Lockard won a key 7-5 decision at 152. Winnacunnet had recently won the Chelmsford Tournament, beating Shawsheen Tech in the process.

Owls withstand challenge

Salem gave unbeaten Timberlane a brief challenge, trailing just 15-13 at one point, but huge wins by Luke Morrier at 130 and Andrew Tanner at 140 turned the tide in a 47-16 win over Salem. Morrier handled Salem standout Devin Dearden 11-6 and Tanner went up a weight class to beat Zach Hicks, 4-2 in overtime.

Rangers on roll

Methuen's wrestling team rolled to three easy wins, 61-4 over Lwominster, 56-10 over Georgetown and 60-18 over Pentucket to improve to 6-0. Framingham Tournament champ Shaun McCarthy won three more matches at 215 and Framingham winner C.J. Doherty was unbeaten at 135. Also, Scott Delrossi continued to impress at 160 with three wins.
