North Andover pulled away in the second half to knock out Pingree, 71-53, in the Larry McIntire Board 130 Classic, advancing to the finals against St. John's Prep.

Haverhill's Alex Norgaisse had 10 rebounds and Naomi Nelson added eight rebounds as the Brooks girls basketball team nipped Pingree 36-35.

Cam Patch scored two goals and assisted on another as Brooks scored its first victory of the season, beating Pingree 6-1.

North Andover's Alesandra Miller scored twice as Brooks opened the season in style with a 4-0 victory over Pingree.

Jason Nawrocki and Lawrence Kemp both scored two goals and John Festa, Zach Weinger and Michael Lata each added one goal as Phillips boys hockey won 8-0 over Pingree.

Alex Norgaisse of Haverhill, who blew out her knee last year, had an impressive debut as Brooks girls basketball blitzed Pingree in its season opener 57-38. Nargaisse scored 9 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to back Thalia Garcia, who pumped in 26 points.

Ian Speliotis netted three goals as Brooks routed Pingree 7-1.

Max Shusterman, Greg Conrad, Eliot Heher and Vito Bavaro also scored for Brooks, which outshot Pingree 55-10.

Phillips was only seconds away from defeat, but wasn't interested in an overtime session.

With only 17 seconds to play, Greer McBeth scored to tie the score.  Then, Caroline Garrity won he draw and took it in for the game-winner with seven seconds to play.

Andover resident Ross Bendetson was a rock in the Phillips net, stopping 28 shots in the Big Blue's 3-1 victory over Pingree. Junior Austin Heffner scored twice for Phillips.
