The Clippers, the hottest team in the CAL, have won nine out of 10 games (the exception being a tie) and are currently rolling on an eight game-winning streak. Ashley Karelis scored a goal and dished out an assist, Rachel Notargiacomo had a huge second half goal, and Callie Hefferan found Karelis in the first half. Haley Morris had 11 gigantic saves in the win. Newburyport had the upper hand in shots on goal (17-16) and offensive corners (8-5).

Battle of unbeatens In a battle of two of the top girls soccer teams in the state, Masconomet (12-0) slipped through the defense for a lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Central Catholic (11-1-1). Both teams had nine shots on net. "We missed some wide-open opportunities, but it was a good physical game between two good teams," said Central coach Anne Marinaro.
