Bulldogs knock Lynn Tech around

The Bulldogs (13-3) got everybody involved with smashing success in a 28-3 win over Lynn Tech. Andrea Caetano had two hits and five RBI including a bases clearing triple in her varsity debut to lead the onslaught while Emily Pontes added five hits and four RBI. Katryna Smith added two hits and three runs scores, Melissa Reyes had two hits and scored once and Meghan Hovan clubbed a grand slam.

Bulldogs knock Lynn Tech from unbeaten ranks

The North Shore Tech baseball snapped a two-game skid in a big way yesterday with a 3-2 walk-off win over previously unbeaten Lynn Tech.

David St. Pierre's hard hit grounder plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, scoring pinch runner Chris Doucette to break a 2-2 tie and send North Shore (3-3) home with the victory.

Bell powers Bulldogs

Whitney Bell homered and drove in three runs as the Bulldogs (6-1) piled on enough runs to survive a late Lynn Tech scare, 15-7. Emily Pontes and Paige Sansaverino each drove in a pair and North Shore led by as many as 11 before allowing six runs in the fifth. Jen Abbott scored three runs to help key the offense.

Newburyport wins with buzzer beat on opening night of tournament play

The Newburyport boys basketball team seems to be well aware that state tournament season has arrived.

Newburyport scored what may prove to be the most exciting victory of the winter season on Evening No. 1 of EMass. State Tournament play. Clippers center Chris Barry converted on a uncontested layup as time expired to give his team a 58-56 victory.

Rockport rolls past Lynn Tech

The top two line on the Rockport boys hockey team should be well-rested when the Vikings play Northeast Regional on Saturday.

That's because both lines were able to get adequate rest last night as Rockport rolled past Lynn Tech, 8-0. The win improved the Vikings to 1-1 on the young season. "I think the key was that I only had to use the top two lines sparingly," said Rockport head coach Mike Greel. "My third, fourth and fifth lines were able to keep the pressure on them."
