Brooks keeps hopes alive

Brooks edged Rivers 1-0 to keep its playoff hopes alive. Jackie Kelleher scored for Brooks (9-7), which will find out today if it qualified for the prep tournament.

Brooks crushes Rivers for third win

WESTON — There’s ending the season on a high note, and then there’s what Brooks did to Rivers last night.

Brooks, which lost their first three games of the season and finally beat Governor’s Academy to snap a 16-game losing streak, toppled Rivers 42-7 to conclude the season at 3-5. The Green and White lost to Rivers 40-22 last year.

Govs' Block sisters two much for Rivers School

The Governor's Academy beat the Rivers School on Wednesday, 2-0, improving their record to 6-1-1, and winning their second game in a row. Linley Block had a goal and an assist, Becca Block had a goal, and Kelly Lavallee dished out the game's first helper. Erin Quinlan recorded her fifth shutout of the season.

Govs, Leary dehydrate Rivers

The Governor's Academy beat the River School yesterday, 5-1, improving their record to 4-6 overall and 3-2 in league play. Kate Leary had three huge goals, while Ellie Clayman and Christine Goglia had scores, and Katie Wolfe, Jill Conway, and Polly Merck had assists. Govs goalie Jen Migliore made 12 saves.

Phillips Academy shut out defending New England Class B champ Rivers 2-0 in its season opener. Amanda Brisco and Emily Little both had a goal and an assist and Alex Farrell had 13 saves.

Brooks ends season winless

NORTH ANDOVER | The Brooks offense was in high gear in the first half yesterday afternoon but, unfortunately, the defense was not.

As a result, Brooks ended a frustrating winless (0-8) season with a 40-22 loss to Rivers.
